Afrobeats sensation Zinoleesky has lifted the lid on the risky steps he took to pursue his music career revealing he ran away from home at a young age and did “crazy things” to chase his dreams.

Choosing Passion Over Profession

In a heartfelt chat with SB Live, the singer reflected on the challenges of growing up in a Nigerian household that favoured “professional courses” over creative paths. He said:

“Nigerian parents are always in denial whenever you want to do stuff like music. They want you to do a professional course or learn a trade. So, you just have to find a way. Me, I did some crazy stuffs. I ran away from home to do music.” according to PM News

This bold move, he explained, was driven by his determination to follow his passion despite the risk and the emotional strain.

From Freestyling to Singing Success

Zinoleesky, born Oniyide Azeez in Agege, Lagos, began his musical journey as a rapper before discovering his voice as a singer. His breakout came in 2017, when clips of his freestyle performances blew up on social media, earning him widespread recognition.
