Social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has declared that he is in a stronger position than ever to push for justice in the death of late singer Mohbad.

Speaking via his Instagram page, VDM said his growing influence, financial muscle, and active following have all fuelled his renewed commitment.

“Unlike before, I have more engagement, influence, followers, and most importantly more money. So it is the right time for me to fight on this matter,” he wrote

₦3 Million Invested in Justice Efforts

VeryDarkMan claims to have spent nearly ₦3 million so far. This included ₦300,000 given to Mohbad’s former driver, alongside a job offer to ensure his full cooperation. He also supported Primeboy, a close associate of Mohbad, who has since been navigating the fallout from the tragedy.

“They think say the matter don quench… E never quench,” he insisted, addressing critics who accuse him of seeking attention or YouTube views

Fresh Leads & Rewards to Uncover the Truth

Earlier this month, VDM offered a ₦10 million reward for credible footage of Mohbad in a wheelchair alongside Zlatan Ibile an incident shrouded in mystery prior to the singer’s death . He also pledged ₦2 million to any woman in the video willing to speak up, showing he’s ready to fund citizen led investigation.

It’s Personal: Verydarkman on Ground Realities

In June, VDM released an audio that suggested Zlatan Ibile had backed away from publicly supporting Mohbad’s cause, citing the “drama” that such campaigns attract . He gave Zlatan a 48-hour ultimatum to address the public and clarify his stance.

Mohbad’s Mysterious Passing

Mohbad born Ilerioluwa Aloba died in September 2023. An ongoing investigation led by the Lagos State Police Command and DSS hasn’t yet produced definitive conclusions . With Adamantly dissatisfied with official updates, VDM is stepping into the void to pressure the system for accountability.

Verydarkman “Ratel” Movement?

VDM’s fanbase, known as “The Ratel,” is among Nigeria’s most vocal social media communities. His message resonates online, and he believes this collective energy backed by mobilized funds can shatter the wall of silence around Mohbad’s death.

“My Ratel no need crowd, Ratel no need love or likes, Ratel needs justice,” VDM declared

VeryDarkMan has built momentum through financial support, public pressure, and fresh evidence signalling a shift from earlier efforts stymied by resource constraints. As he remarked:

Whether this strategy leads to answers hinges as much on his backing network as it does on official follow-through. Either way, VDM has positioned himself at the forefront, declaring loud and clear: the fight for Mohbad’s justice isn’t over.
