The much-publicized legal battle between Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin has officially come to an end, as a Lagos High Court dismissed the ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit filed by Ojo.
Lizzy Anjorin personally confirmed the court’s decision via her verified Instagram account on Tuesday, July 9, 2025, sparking a wave of reactions online, especially from her devoted followers.
The defamation suit accused Lizzy Anjorin of cyberbullying and making damaging allegations against Iyabo Ojo. However, the case was dismissed due to lack of strong evidence and procedural inconsistencies, according to Vanguard Nigeria.
In her post-trial celebration video, Lizzy Anjorin declared:

No official response has been issued by Iyabo Ojo or her legal team at the time of writing.
Though the court case only became public earlier this year, the tension between the two actresses has been simmering since late 2024. The feud involved a series of indirect online posts, Instagram live sessions, and industry gossip.
According to Pulse Nigeria, the matter gained widespread attention in early 2025, when Iyabo Ojo formally filed a defamation lawsuit, seeking ₦1 billion in damages and a public apology from Lizzy.
Anjorin maintained her innocence throughout. In a previous Instagram live, she boldly stated:
“I no talk lie. Anything wey I talk, I fit defend am. Nobody fit silence me.”

One fan wrote:
“Grace has spoken. This is a clear win for truth!”
Another added:
“Queen Lizzy stands tall! No shaking!”
Several celebrity blogs and fan pages also picked up the story, further amplifying the buzz surrounding the case’s dismissal.
Several Nollywood insiders have weighed in, calling on both parties to let go of the animosity. A veteran Yoruba movie producer told The Punch:
“They are both successful and influential. There’s nothing to gain from all this public disgrace. We need peace in the industry.”

Court Clears Lizzy of All Allegations
Reinforcing her position, Lizzy took to Instagram once more, stating:
“You can’t bully me with lawsuits or fake stories. I walk with grace, not disgrace.”
She also teased a possible tell-all interview where she promises to “say everything without filters.”
Though the lawsuit has ended, many industry watchers believe this is far from the end of the Iyabo Ojo and Lizzy Anjorin saga. With both actresses being outspoken, bold, and fiercely protective of their public image, it’s uncertain whether either will fully back down.

Lizzy: “I Can’t Be Silenced or Intimidated”
For now, Lizzy may have won this legal round, but the personal tension still lingers. Fans from both sides continue to subtly throw jabs online, keeping the rivalry alive in comment sections and blog posts.
Some analysts suggest that if not properly resolved behind closed doors, this feud could spill over into future movie collaborations, brand deals, or public appearances where both stars are invited.
A social media commentator wrote on Instagram:
“Until they both sit down in front of a camera and squash this beef face-to-face, we know say this gist never end.”
Others have called for respected elders in the Yoruba Nollywood industry such as Jide Kosoko, or Fathia Balogun to step in and mediate, in hopes of restoring calm and professionalism between the two women.
The question now is: will one of Nigeria’s most sensational celebrity beefs fizzle out, or will it continue to make headlines for months to come?
Whatever happens, the public is watching and so is the industry.
