Legendary Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, has found himself in the middle of a controversy after he allegedly spilled alcohol on an airport security staff during boarding procedures at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The incident, which occurred on August 5, 2025, has drawn attention from both the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) two key aviation regulators currently investigating the matter.

Why KWAM 1 Spilled Alcohol on Airport Staff: Full Story Behind the Controversial Incident
According to premium times KWAM 1 attempted to board a ValueJet flight to Lagos while carrying a flask filled with alcohol. Airport security personnel requested that he step aside and surrender the container in compliance with the 100ml liquid limit rule a standard global aviation regulation.
Rather than cooperate, KWAM 1 reportedly became agitated and poured the contents of the flask on a security staff. Eyewitnesses claim the incident caused a temporary scene at the boarding gate.
“He refused to hand over the flask and spilled it on one of our staff when asked to comply,” FAAN confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday.
Interestingly, the situation did not end with KWAM 1. The NCAA has reportedly suspended two ValueJet pilots Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba for proceeding with the flight despite the unresolved incident.
According to a report by vanguard news, the NCAA believes the pilots breached protocol by allowing the aircraft to depart without obtaining final ground clearance, especially after the commotion involving a high-profile passenger.
This move highlights NCAA’s increasing commitment to enforcing strict compliance with aviation procedures in Nigeria.

While the artist has remained silent on the matter, many Nigerians have taken to social media to criticize the Fuji star’s behavior.
“This is exactly why celebrities must lead by example. That could have turned deadly,” one user commented on X (formerly Twitter).

This incident has once again sparked nationwide discussions about celebrity entitlement and public responsibility. While KWAM 1’s legacy in Fuji music remains unshaken, his recent actions have placed him under public and regulatory scrutiny.
