Controversial social media commentator, Martins Vincent Otse a.k.a. VeryDarkMan (VDM), has finally opened up about his private meeting with actress Iyabo Ojo, revealing for the first time that the two sat down to iron out their issues face-to-face but under strict conditions.

In a video shared on his Instagram, VDM confirmed the meeting was real and disclosed that both parties dropped their phones to avoid pictures or recordings. “Nobody snapped. Everybody dropped their phone. If not, una for see am online,” he said, confirming the secrecy of the closed-door chat.

The meeting comes weeks after their public fallout, triggered by VDM accusing Iyabo of gatecrashing Davido and Chioma’s wedding — an accusation she countered with video evidence of her official invite.

Following the online feud, Iyabo’s Lekki office was engulfed in flames in early July. She was out of Nigeria at the time, celebrating her daughter Priscilla’s wedding. The actress shared footage of the burnt office, praising the firefighters for containing the blaze.

Shortly before the fire, Iyabo’s daughter revealed that a threatening letter had been delivered to the office. The anonymous note warned that “we will destroy everything around you” and suggested the actress would “regret her life.”

According to Legit , these threats could be linked to Iyabo’s involvement in the Justice for Mohbad movement, a role that has put her at odds with certain industry figures and fan groups.

During their private talk, Iyabo opened up to VDM, revealing that she was invited by the police for questioning in connection to the late singer Mohbad’s mysterious death.

“She told me straight  police invited her for interrogation, and she said she knows absolutely nothing about what happened to Mohbad,” VDM disclosed in his post-meeting video.

According to Iyabo, she has maintained a public stance demanding justice for Mohbad, but insisted she had no direct involvement in the circumstances surrounding his death. This aligns with her earlier public statement:

“I have never accused anyone personally. I’ve only asked for truth and justice.” — Iyabo Ojo

Legit.ng confirmed the actress had been targeted online after leading awareness campaigns and submitting petitions related to the case.

VDM Still in Court Over Cyberbullying Charges

Despite the apparent peace move, VDM still has legal issues to face. He was re-arraigned in May on five counts of cyberbullying, involving online attacks on Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, and music producer Samklef.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. The case continues on July 24, 2025, at the Federal High Court in Abuja. (Legit.ng).

VDM’s Pattern: “Drama Queens” Like Tonto & Blessing CEO

VDM’s criticism of Iyabo is part of a wider pattern. He has consistently lashed out at certain women in Nollywood, particularly those he calls “clout-chasing drama queens.” Among his regular targets are Tonto Dikeh and Blessing CEO, whom he accuses of using personal controversy for fame.

In older clips, he called them “failed actresses” and said the industry has turned into a circus. Iyabo clapped back by uploading her own receipts:

“You go online every day to insult women. That’s not activism — that’s sickness.”

Police Now Involved as Threats Escalate

The fire incident and the threatening letter have turned a social media feud into a full-blown security concern. Iyabo has filed formal reports with the police, who are currently investigating the arson and threats.

“I won’t let anyone intimidate me or my family,” she wrote after the fire. She also said she’s upgraded her office security and will continue her advocacy despite pressure.
