Leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, OPPO, has officially launched its latest flagship device ,the OPPO A5 Pro at a media event in Lagos, Nigeria. Designed with durability and functionality at its core, the A5 Pro is engineered to perform under extreme conditions including high temperatures, water immersion, erosion, and physical impact.
Speaking at the unveiling, Folashade Omonijo, OPPO’s Marketing Manager, highlighted the brand’s commitment to innovation and user empowerment.
“Today, we are proud to introduce the OPPO A5 Pro, a smartphone crafted for long-lasting performance and built to keep up with life on the move. It’s not just a phone — it’s a reliable companion for users who need consistent performance wherever they are,” she said.

Also speaking at the event, Caroline Wang, OPPO’s Head of Marketing, emphasized the company’s global vision.

Unveiling the standout features, Victor Igweonu, OPPO’s Training Manager, described the A5 Pro as one of the most affordable smartphones in the Nigerian market with underwater photography capabilities. According to him, the device can withstand submersion in fresh water for over 30 minutes, making it perfect for capturing underwater moments.
The A5 Pro is also resistant to hot water up to 80°C, erosion, high-impact drops, and extreme temperatures. It boasts a 5,800mAh battery, supports fast charging, and delivers over 2.5 hours of audio playtime. The phone’s display features 1,000 nits brightness, ensuring readability even under direct sunlight.
Additional highlights include high-resolution front and rear cameras, a specially designed protective case, and military-grade impact resistance — positioning the OPPO A5 Pro as one of the toughest and most user-friendly smartphones available in its category.
