Fashion influencer Sophia Momodu has fired back at recent social-media chatter, declaring that her daughter, Imade, the first child of music star Davido, has never received a kobo from her father in child support.
According to Momodu, she has been solely responsible for every aspect of Imade’s upbringing from daily needs and education to healthcare and general welfare. According to Dailypost
Sophia said the decision to speak out came after
“numerous posts … intentionally targeted at my lovely daughter,”
adding that it was important to set the record straight about Imade’s wellbeing. She maintained firmly that anyone who has met her child would confirm that she is “happy, healthy, and well-rounded.”
Over the past five years, Momodu revealed, she has borne all parental responsibilities alone. She clarified that the only assistance ever received payment of school fees came from Imade’s paternal grandfather, not from Davido.

“I have not received child support from her father, but our child knows no lack,” Sophia declared.
In fact, she said she has formally waived any claim to child support, choosing instead to provide for their daughter herself.
She also addressed allegations that she had barred Davido from seeing Imade, describing them as false.
According to Momodu, she has never denied the father access; rather, she has always prioritized Imade’s safety, routine, and well-being, ensuring that her child is not dragged into public controversies.
The timing of Sophia’s statement aligns with growing speculation on social media about Imade’s absence from a recent family event in the United States a gathering that included Davido’s other child.
Rather than react emotionally to the backlash, Sophia said, she opted to respond firmly but calmly, stressing that her message was about protecting her child’s dignity. She appealed to the public to stop involving Imade in
“false narratives and stories.”
Since their split a relationship that began in 2015 and ended in 2022 Sophia says she has taken full responsibility for raising Imade.
Despite the absence of financial support from Davido, she maintains that their daughter grows up in a stable, loving, and comfortable environment.
“Our child knows no lack,” she reiterated, calling on netizens to shift their focus to more productive and positive stories rather than idle rumours.
