Legendary Juju musician, King Sunny Ade, has debunked widespread rumours about his alleged disappearance, stating unequivocally that he is alive, well, and in good health.
In a statement released via his official Instagram account, the music icon attributed the false claims to his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, and her associates. He described the news as “fabricated” and “mischievous,” warning those involved to desist or face legal consequences.
“Contrary to the falsehood and fabricated news dated 28th April 2025, peddled by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her associates who declared that I was missing, I hereby state that I am alive and well,” the statement read.
King Sunny Ade, whose real name is Dr. Sunday Adeniyi-Adegeye MFR, expressed deep gratitude to his fans for their concern and support, assuring them of his safety and well-being.
He also used the opportunity to call out bloggers and others who spread the misinformation, accusing them of trying to tarnish his hard-earned reputation.
“It is very important to address the falsehood… and to assure the general public and loved ones that I am alive and safe,” he said.
The veteran musician concluded by thanking his supporters and issuing a stern warning: “Desist forthwith or be prepared to face the wrath of the law.”
