In a major shake-up within Nigeria’s ruling party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje has resigned from his position as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The development was confirmed today, Friday, June 27, 2025.
Ganduje, who assumed office in August 2023 after leaving his role as Governor of Kano State, reportedly submitted his resignation letter to the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). His decision is said to be connected to ongoing internal party disagreements and the growing pressure from northern APC stakeholders who have long demanded a restructuring of leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
