Ukwa-Ngwa Leaders Ask Kalu to Run for Abia Governor in 2027

Leaders from the Ukwa-Ngwa area of Abia State have asked the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, to contest for governor in 2027.

They visited Kalu in Umuahia on Thursday to show their support. They praised his good work in the National Assembly and his efforts to help the people of Abia.

Speaking for the group, Elder Godwin Nna, a former Commissioner and former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) wants to win Abia in 2027 and needs strong leaders like Kalu.

“We from Aba division, Ukwa la Ngwa, are here today to tell you that we want to take over Abia State. With capable people like you, APC will surely win,” Nna said.

Other important leaders, like Rt. Hon. Uzo Azubuike, former Deputy Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, and Sir Don Ubani, former Information Commissioner, also supported Kalu. They praised his work and urged him to continue helping the people.

Azubuike called Kalu’s performance “excellent” and promised that the Ukwa-Ngwa people would fully support him. Ubani thanked Kalu for his empowerment projects and encouraged him to do even more.

In his reply, Deputy Speaker Kalu thanked the leaders for their trust and called for unity. He said that if they all work together, APC will win in 2027.

“We must stand together. With your support, we will win for the good of Abia State,” Kalu said.

Meanwhile, the Uwaoma Support Group, led by Hon. Abraham Obah, also visited Kalu and promised to deliver Aba North and Aba South to the APC in 2027.

Kalu, who has deep roots in Aba, promised to support their efforts and said, “When the time comes, we will shut down Aba with our strength.”
