In a candid interview with journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus, legendary Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as KWAM 1, has addressed the swirling rumors about a possible split from his wife, Emmanuella Ropo. The music icon made it clear: there is no Wasiu Ayinde divorce — and Emmanuella remains his one and only wife.
Social media had been buzzing with speculations for weeks, with many fans wondering if KWAM 1’s two-year-old marriage had hit the rocks. But in his own words, Ayinde Wasiu cleared the air.
“I do not have any problem with Emmanuella,” he told Stella. “The only problem in any relationship might be about rules you are trying to put up.”
KWAM 1 explained that he has been fully engrossed in the construction of a massive resort project and needed to stay focused. He said he intentionally distanced himself from distractions, including social media, and advised Emmanuella to do the same — a decision he admits she may not have liked.
“I told my wife to take things easy, face her business, and leave social media,” he said. “I’m 68 already. Do I need to fool myself?”
This statement addresses the public’s curiosity and confirms that there is no ongoing Wasiu Ayinde divorce. In fact, when asked whether Emmanuella is still his wife, he replied without hesitation: “Yes, she is the only one.”
He also touched on the public’s speculation that jealousy or other women may have caused a rift.
“It is a natural thing to say a woman is jealous,” he said calmly. “But there’s nothing unusual about that.”
KWAM 1, also known as Ayinde Wasiu, emphasized that he hasn’t done anything wrong — only that he chose to focus on building a legacy while encouraging Emmanuella to build hers too. He said her reaction to that decision is her right, but that shouldn’t be mistaken for marital crisis.
Despite public perception and online gossip, the Fuji legend made it clear that his family is intact, and there are no immediate plans to take another wife.
“I didn’t do anything wrong. Emmanuella brought this upon herself because I don’t know what she is doing on social media,” he added.
