APC Says Its ‘Plane’ Ready for Takeoff After Governor Eno’s PDP Jab

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to remarks by Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, assuring him that its political “plane” is fit to fly, after the governor likened the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a faulty aircraft.

Governor Eno, a PDP member, had reportedly made a metaphorical comparison describing his party as a grounded plane in need of alternatives a comment that has drawn political reactions.

In a statement released on Wednesday, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, welcomed the analogy, saying: “We couldn’t agree more that Plane PDP has become demonstrably inoperable and unsafe for travel.”

Offering a political alternative, the APC described itself as an airline with “competent pilots and crew,” ready to fly Governor Eno and his team to their “desired destination.”

“Our great Party assures the Governor that Plane APC is fit and ready to fly His Excellency and entourage,” the statement said. “We assure Governor Eno that a flight with us will be a mighty good ride to remember.”

The exchange comes amid growing political realignments and jostling ahead of upcoming electoral cycles in the state and beyond.
